Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope
June 11, 2008 - The Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope is launched! The mission was a joint project by NASA, the United States Department of Energy, and government agencies in France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Sweden, to study Gamma-rays and Gamma-ray sources. According to NASA, Gamma-rays are the highest-energy form of light, and the gamma-ray sky is nothing like the one we perceive with our own eyes. The Fermi Telescope allows scientists to observe the phenomenon of supermassive black-hole systems, pulsars, the origin of cosmic rays, and even answer questions humans have had about space for our entire existence.Read More: Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope, Fermi's Decade of Gamma-ray Discoveries
