Apple Launches iTunes
April 29, 2003 - This past week marks the 18th anniversary of the launch of the Apple iTunes Music Store. The service sold over one million digital downloads within the first week and created the industry standard of selling individual songs for only 99 cents. The iTunes Music Store has since been shut down, with Apple moving towards subscription based models on 3 different apps: Apple Music, Podcasts and Apple TV.Read More: How iTunes Changed Music and the World
