The Father of Quantum Physics
April 23, 1858 - One of the founding fathers of quantum physics, Max Karl Ernst Ludwig Planck, is born. Planck was a German theoretical physicist who discovered the quantum of action, known as Planck's constant "h". His contributions revolutionized our understanding of quantum theory and changed our scientific framework for atomic and subatomic processes. Planck’s concept of energy quanta conflicted fundamentally with all past physical theory, it was years before the far-reaching consequences of Planck’s achievement were generally recognized.
