First Android Introduced

September 23, 2008 - Google and T-Mobile team up to release the first mobile phone with Android software. Called the HTC Dream, the phone was the successor to the Sooner prototype modeled after the BlackBerry. Andy Rubin and the Andriod development team switched gears to the Dream to poise as a competitor to the iPhone following its release in January 2007. With an intentional hardware keyboard and the first Android mobile operating system, the Dream was released as the T-Mobile G-1, which was offered in stores until 2010.
