Apple introduces the PowerBook
October 21, 1991 - Apple released the PowerBook 100 series (100, 140, and 170) designed by Sony for Apple Computer. These computers were all the rage with their compact dark grey case, built-in trackball mouse, and, keyboard positioning which provided room for palm rests on each side of the pointing device. The PowerBook was available for $2,500-$4,600, roughly equivalent to $5,000-$9,000 today. Laptops have come a long way in 30 years!
