Deep Blue beats a World Chess Champion

February 10, 1996 - The computer Deep Blue beats world chess champion Garry Kasparov in a standard championship chess match. This match was the first time a computer had beaten a world chess champion using standard time controls. Kasparov would go on to win the match, beating Deep Blue by 4-2.
