Shake it like a Polaroid Picture

November 28, 1948 - Polaroid introduces the first instant camera, the Land Camera Model 95, the day after Thanksgiving at the Jordan Marsh department store in Boston. They produced 57 units, hoping that would last through the Christmas season. All units were sold within the first day along with the Land Film, Type 40. It produced a sepia-toned picture that developed immediately before your eyes, making the camera a huge success. Named after its inventor Edwin Land, Polaroid produced millions of instant film cameras until 2008.Read about the history of Polaroid and the Land Camera.
