iPhone Announced
January 9, 2007 - Apple Computer Inc. dropped 'Computer" from the company name and introduced the iPhone at Macworld. The phone wasn't available for sale until June 29th, but the wait created one of the most anticipated sales launches ever. Apple only sold 1.4 million phones that year, but sales have increased to over 200 million phones a year as demand and popularity have grown.Read more about the evolution of the iPhone.
