Initial ARPANet Complete

December 5th, 1969 - The U.S. Department of Defense's Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) connected four computer network nodes, connecting the originally planned nodes, completing the world's first packet-switching computer network, the precursor to the modern internet. The fourth and final node was the only one outside of California located at the University of Utah, the other nodes were located at UCLA, UC Santa Barbra, and Stanford.Read about the history of the ARPA project.
